JOSEPH HURST
     Joseph Hurst, son of John Hurst and Elizabeth Breedwell, was
born in Virginia in abut the year 1792.  He married Rhoda McNew of
Virginia, and was a soldier in the War of 1812.

     Joseph came with his father from New River to Claiborne County
where the records show he purchased a tract of land in 1818.  In 1825,
he sold a tract of land to John McCammack, and another tract in 1829.
He went to Putnam County, Indiana, where he stayed a short time, and
then migrated to Buchanan County, Missouri, where he died before
1850
