Aaron Hurst owned a large boundary of land between the "Old Garrison", and "Big Spring" (Now Springdale). Aaron Hurst lived on a farm a few miles west of Springdale. His wife was Sallie McNew. She was a sister of Mrs. James Johnston of Ball Creek. They raised a family of seven sons and two daughters.

"I Aaron Hurst make and publish this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made.

First I direct that my funeral expences and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any money that I may die possesssed of or may first come in to the hands of my Exutrix.

Secondly I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Hurst the farm whereon I now live including the land that I purchased of Thomas Hurst and also the land that I purchased of Isham Simmons during her natural life.

thirdly I give and bequeath to my four oldest children Harmon Hurst, James Hurst, Nancy Hurst & Elizabeth Hurst arrives to the age of Twenty one years Twenty five dollars, Each, and also to my son Isaac Hurst, when he arrives to the age of twenty one years twenty five dollars each, and also to my son Thomas Hurst when he arrives to the age of Twenty one years Twenty five dollars each, and also to my son John Hurst when he arrives to the age of Twenty one years Twenty five dollars each, and that the rents and issues of said tracts of land be applied exclusively of my debts, and should there be an over plus after paying my debts and before my daughter Elizabeth arrives to the age of twenty one years to take possession as afore said, it shall be equally divided amongst my eight children before named all of which lands as aforesaid lying and being in the County of Claiborne and state of Tennessee.

Fourthly it is my will that my wife Sarah Hurst pay to my son William Simpson Hurst, on Hundred dollars when he arrives to the age of twenty one years.

Fifthly it is my will that all my personal property remain and belong to my wife Sarah Hurst for the use and benefit of my children Lastly I do here nominate and appoint my wife Sarah Hurst my Executrix in Witness whereof I do to this set my hand and seal.
